Hello , I am connecting 0-3.3V pulse as an input to DS1110S. pullup current is 1mA pull down is 12mA also it was said that it could drive 10 74LS type loads as shown below. because the pull up current is drastickly lower i think we need to use pull up resistor. my load is 74ABT04 whi input capactiance is 3pF. 1.what is the capcitance of typical 74LS device? 2.I was tol that if i connect 74ABT04 to the output of DS1110S the i dont need pullup resistor between them. Why is that? I know we have a formula I=CdV/dt. How can we know that we dont need pullup resistor?
UPDATE: Hello,My load capacticance (input of the 74ABT04) is 3pF I need to deliver a pulse so it will reach V_IH. pullup current of the DS1110S is 1mA. my pulse width is 200ns with 10ns rise time so from the formula I=C*dV/dt 1mA=3pF*(X/10ns) X=3Volts so its enough. The question is what do we do if we dont reach VIH value. How pullup resistor can help use increase the pullup current? Thanks.
